PHACKS | Registers

As national registers in government and major industry organisations improve their services to meet the increasing demands of digital economies, so there is an increasing recognition of the strategic importance of these national and international data registers, and their numbers are increasing.  The European Commission and several register operators have recognised the need for greater coordination and collaboration to ensure the interoperability of similar registers across the EU – just as happens today with passport registers around the world. 

Two of their emerging requirements could be addressed by PHACKS. 

• The urgent need to improve data quality within individual registers and across the same types of registers; 
• The requirement to be able to validate data but without exposing or sharing it if it is too sensitive or it is different. 

Realising Value through PHACKS 

PHACKS could help to:

• accelerate improvements in inter-register interoperability; 
• enable greater use of registers by relying parties;
• help registers outside the EU interoperate with registers inside the EU.
