Sedicii nominated for best Technology and Innovation Award by Waterford Chamber of Commerce

“Fragmented and unreliable digital identity mechanisms are limiting growth in the global economy and adding to the costs of doing business. ‘Fixing’ the identity problem, will drive the next wave of business innovation. Robust identities, advanced privacy, and public trust supported by digital asset-based incentive mechanisms, I believe, will transform the business models used in every industry.”– Rob Leslie, Sedicii Founder & CEO

Sedicii has been shortlisted by Waterford Chamber Business Awards for its Technology and Innovations in the Identity arena. “This comes on the back of a really great year in 2018,” says Rob Leslie, Sedicii’s Founder and CEO. “Sedicii enables people to prove they are who they say they are in order to gain access to online services without exposing private data to fraud. No more sending copies or scans of passports and bills to banks, telephone companies, hotels, etc. Gaining more control over where our personal information is stored and keeping our identity safe is at the core of the Sedicii trusted identity solution.” said Leslie.

Sedicii has its headquarters in Waterford, in Ireland’s South East, an area which is fast becoming the 'Crystal Valley Hub' of Europe due to the strong growth in the Technology sector there. Sedicii’s story is indeed a good news one for the region. 2018 saw the company winning multiple prestigious European and Global awards from Fintech and RegTech leaders for the Kriptan Identity Network which uses Sedicii’s Zero Knowledge Proof technology.

In April 2018 they won the Red Herring Top 100 award, a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies spearheading innovation in emerging technologies. Previous winners have included Alibaba, Google, SalesForce.com, Skype, Spotify, Twitter and YouTube, all companies that have changed the way we live and work. Red Herring provides an insider’s access to the global innovation economy, featuring unparalleled insights on the emerging technologies driving the economy.

In May they were selected from over 7,400 companies from 28 countries when they were named a TiE50 finalist. But the highest accolade of 2018 was without doubt winning the best overall Financial Technology company of the future at the BBVA Open Innovation Awards. The BBVA seeks new ways of taking on the future challenges facing the financial sector. They recognise initiatives that will revolutionise the way people and companies manage their data and their money and discover the fintech solutions with the most disruptive potential in the financial services industry.

Just to finish off the year then in November the company was named on the list of Global Regtech 100 Companies to watch in 2019. They have significant growth plans for the coming year which have yet to be revealed. So it really is a company to watch for 2019.
